Alicia is a variant of Alice. Alice originates in Old French language and means "noble, graceful". As a feminine given name, Alice has always been one of the most popular names in the English-speaking countries, as well as other European countries. It was popularized by Lewis Carroll in his 1865 novel Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Alice was also the name of Queen Victoria's daughter, as well as the daughter of President Theodore Roosevelt. There have been many songs written about Alice, one of the most popular being Living Next Door to Alice, made famous by Smokie.
