Bruce
English, French
From Brieuze
Bruce is a very old and respected name, especially in Scotland, but it is believed to be of French origin. It is believed that the name Bruce was a surname given to people from the Brieuze region of Normandy in France. When the Normans invaded England, there was a contingent of Brus and it is believed that they established the name in the British Isles from where it went to Ireland.
