Iida is a Finnish variant of Ida. Ida originates in Germanic languages and means "hardworking woman". In Greek mythology, Ida was a nymph of mount Ida and a nurse of Zeus. It was also the name of an 11th century saint, as well as a Hindu goddess of the earth, food and nourishment. As a feminine given name nowadays it is mainly popular in Scandinavian countries.
