Roshanak originates in Persian language and means "star of magnificence". In English, the name's version is Roxanne of Roxana. Roxana was the wife of Alexander the Great and was eventually assassinated. The name Roxanne was popularized by a song of the same name by The Police in 1978. She was also a main character in Cyrano de Bergerac by Edmond Rostand.
