Description:Raeece is an affectionate and loving 11 year old German Shepherd who has lived with the same owner for the last 10 years. Raeeca also was adopted initially from GSRNC. Unfortunately a move has become necessary and her owner can no longer keep her. Clearly this will be a tough adjustment for Raeece and her old owner, but the owner was able to contact the GSRNC Thulani Program so that Raeece can avoid the trauma and risk of being left at a shelter.
Raeeca is very smart, and she understands basic commands. She has always lived inside a house but has spent lots of time outside going for extended walks. When she was young the walks could extend over 10 miles but now she can still walk 5 miles before she becomes tired. While walking she will stay at your side and she listens well to commands.
Raeeca gets along with other dogs when properly introduced but she clearly prefers spending her play time with people. Also, Raeeca will chase cats so it is not recommended she live in a house with a cat.
Throughout Raeece`s life she seemed to have been a happy and well cared for dog. She was able to stay indoors alone for much of the day when needed. She has refined home manners and does not dig or chew. She also is house-trained.
Raeeca has clearly benefited from her active exercise regime and by her owner monitoring her weight, a program that should be continued. This has keep Raeece away from daily medications.
Raeece has been pampered with regard to her diet--either Hill`s Science Diet (for dogs with a sensitive stomach) and home cooked meals now and again. One of her favorite meals is steamed chicken and rice with vegetables. She also eats cooked vegetables and some fruits (Apples are her favorite). The Thulani Program is dedicated to rescuing senior or terminally ill German Shepherds that are in danger of not being able to live out and enjoy their golden years... Raeece T. has been accepted into the GSRNC Thulani Program where her health and well being are our first priority. Raeece is in a Thulani foster home where she receives lots of love and pampering. Along with TLC, the Thulani Program will also see that she receives any medical care necessary to her well being. We will be looking to match her with a forever adoptive home that will care for her for the rest of her life. Raeece will come with a supply of food, a cushy pad if wanted, and other goodies such as toys. Raeece’s medical expenses will also be covered for the rest of her life by The Thulani Program!
