Zoot's Story

Our rescue will be at the Palo Alto Pet Food Express Saturday, July 2nd and Sunday, July 3rd from 12-3pm. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated and microchipped.

* If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. * We do not have a facility. All dogs live in foster homes. Arrangements to meet dogs occur after an approved application has been accepted. * We do not ship our dogs for any reason. * Our adoption fee is $400 for each dog/puppy. * If it is on a weekend of our adoptions, follow us on @DPSRescue on Twitter to get real time updates on our adoptions. We will also post at the end of the evening the names of those dogs who have been adopted: www.facebook.com/DPSRescue

This dog will be at Palo Alto Pet Food Express on Saturday, July 30th and Sunday, July 31st from 12-3pm or until adopted. However, we do meet with those who submit an application and are approved just prior to the event (by invitation only) and they are given the first opportunity to adopt. If you are interested in one of our dogs, we recommend filling out an application prior to the event to be considered. Applications submitted within 24 hours of the event may not necessarily be reviewed.

Zoot is a 4-5 year old tiny Westie-Poodle mix who was an owner surrender to our organization.  He is a tiny guy who weighs about 6-8 lbs. He is initially timid with strangers, but with patience (and treats in your hand!) he will come around pretty quickly.  His foster mom reports that he loves to play fetch and will happily do tricks... if there are treats after!  He is currently fostered with another dog and isn`t really interested in him, but coexists peacefully with him.

Zoot will do best with a patient owner who gives him time to blossom in his new home.  He has lived with kids for most of his life, so he may be an option for a home with patient and gentle children who give him his space.  Zoot is an option for a home that has had a dog in the last 5 years.  He is an option for a home with cats.

**Not all of our dogs go to each adoption event. We want to make sure if you are interested in a dog that we have the dog at adoptions but that can only happen if you fill out an application ahead of time and are pre-approved. (Generally this must happen prior to the weekend)

**If you are wanting to submit an application within 24 hours of an event, please print off the application and bring with you as well as submitting it. You may still submit it and if time and volunteers permit, we will contact you. Most applications submitted the weekend of adoptions are not responded to until after the adoption weekend.
