me's Story

ADOPT ME ONLINE: https://ophrescue.org/dogs/12900 All Aboard! Meet the Thomas & Friends Pups! My name is Emily and I am one of 9 siblings that came to OPH with our mom on 9/8 from Mississippi! Im a sweet girl that was born on 8/3, so I'm currently 6 weeks old. I love to play with toys and my littermates. My foster mom says Im a big cuddler too. I am estimated to be medium size when full grown, and I am guessed to be a Coonhound mix. I will be ready to go home as early as Saturday, September 30, 2023. Because Im still a baby, I will require an adopter who is not out of the home for more than 4 hours at one time to continue my training - no exceptions! I will be up-to-date on age appropriate vaccines. I MUST stay out of public places where I could be exposed to the germs of many other dogs for another 2-3 weeks after I go home. The no puppy zones include all pet stores, dog parks, and for apartment dwellers, areas used by other dogs. These requirements are strictly for the puppys medical safety and longevity. To adopt fill out the simple online application at https://ophrescue.org Operation Paws for Homes, Inc. (OPH) rescues dogs and cats of all breeds and ages from high-kill shelters in NC, VA, MD, and SC, reducing the numbers being euthanized. With limited resources, the shelters are forced to put down 50-90% of the animals that come in the front door. OPH provides pet adoption services to families located in VA, DC, MD, PA and neighboring states. OPH is a 501(c)(3) organization and is 100% donor funded. OPH does not operate a shelter or have a physical location. We rely on foster families who open their homes to give love and attention to each pet before finding a forever home. All adult dogs, cats, and kittens are altered prior to adoption. Puppies too young to be altered at the time of adoption must be brought to our partner vet in Ashland, VA for spay or neuter paid for by Operation Paws for Homes by 6 months of age. Adopters may choose to have the procedure done at their own vet before 6 months of age and be reimbursed the amount that the rescue would pay our partner vet in Ashland.
