Betty's Story
Please read our Core Values prior to applying, www.furryfriendsnetwork.com/adopt/our-expectations. Posted 12/31/2023 Introducing Betty, a sweet 14-year old cocker spaniel looking for a friend to dote on her in her retirement. Her ideal home will offer lots of nap time with a warm oversized bed, yummy treats, minimal stairs and a calm, stable environment. Lastly, if she can find someone special that will adopt her with her brother Stanley, she promises to love them extra much!!! You see, Betty was separated from Stanley for several weeks and she was very anxious, cried and was unable to sleep without medication. Since she’s been reunited with Stanley in foster care, her anxious tendencies have decreased and she’s become an expert napper. She follows Stanley everywhere and takes his lead sharing his food bowls, drinking when he drinks, and even going potty at the same time. For personal space Betty sometimes allows Stanley to sleep 6-feet away on a separate bed. Betty is timid and quiet, but she’s been coming to her foster mom to get her chest petted or head rubbed and she gives frequent kisses. She’s been scared of having anything slipped over her head (harness, sweater, etc), getting picked up or sitting on laps. She’s shown no interest in toys and mostly ignores cats and dogs that aren’t Stanley. Betty needs a little extra help focusing on eating and has a finicky appetite. Stairs can be a struggle for her going down and she doesn’t always land on her feet when she hops down. Betty is a well aged lady with plenty of love left to give to a special adopter. Adoption application, home visit and adoption fee required. If you would like to apply for adoption, please complete the online application at www.furryfriendsnetwork.com. Look under ADOPT tab. Contact [email protected] for questions or if issues are encountered with the adoption application or general adoption process.
