Tatum's Story

Tatum is a sweet 8 week old lab mix that weighs 8 lbs. She is estimated to be around 55-60 lbs once she is full grown. She is the most affectionate pup in her litter and finds every chance to snuggle up with her humans. She is a laid back girl that enjoys sunbathing on the back porch and cuddling up on the couch with her fosters while they watch tv. When she's not lounging around relaxing, she will join in on playtime with her siblings or the human kids in her foster home. She loves to find a toy and try to play keep away, but when she notices you're losing interest, she will run back to you and play bow to give you a chance to join in on her puppy game again. She would love to have a fun, laid back family that enjoys spending time outside in the backyard doing leisurely activities and taking short walks around the neighborhood before heading back home to snuggle up on the couch. Tatum is low to medium energy, so she will require a few play sessions or short walks around the block throughout the day. As she gets older and perfects her leash training skills, she would enjoy frequenting nature trails that she can leisurely stroll along and sniff around. Although she is laid back, she would happily join her humans in more extensive outdoor adventures from time to time, so if you enjoy hiking longer trails on the weekends, she would be up for that, too. She can be easily entertained with some stuffed animals that squeak or long lasting chew bones if you work from home, and would love to join you in your home office on her dog bed to keep you company. Tatum is dog, cat and kid friendly. She does well with dogs of all ages and sizes, and is currently in a foster home with dogs ranging in age from puppy to senior. She would love to have another dog in her forever home that she can play and snuggle with, but she would be fine being a solo dog in the home as long as her human is able to spend lots of time with her and can take her on puppy play dates with other doggy friends. She is curious to meet kitties, but would require slow introductions if there is a kitty in her forever home. Her sweet, loving temperament makes her the perfect pup to join a family with kids of all ages. She is currently in a foster home with a toddler and elementary age kids, and she loves them both. She would love to have some human kids in her forever home to cuddle with. Tatum is kennel trained, and is currently working on mastering her potty training skills. She will use a potty pad in her puppy playpen while her foster mom is at work, but has been doing great transitioning outside now that she is vaccinated. She currently sleeps in a playpen/kennel setup at night, and doesn't mind as long as she gets a quick play session in before bedtime. She will need leash training once she is in her forever home. Her ideal home environment would be a house with a fenced in backyard that she can run around and play in. She would do well in an apartment, townhouse or condo as long as she has a human home majority of the day and there is a nice spot on the patio for her to sunbathe in. Tatum will have a $200 refundable spay deposit added onto her adoption and transport fees because she is too young to be spayed at this time. She cannot be adopted into Canada at this time because of her age. If you are interested in adopting Tatum, please fill out an application at: https://www.loveandpuppypawsdogrescue.com/adoption-application. Tatum is in a foster home in South Texas and will be transported once adopted. TRANSPORT: Currently we have monthly transports. It will be up to the adoptive family to meet the transport to pick up your new family member. Please be advised that our dogs are adopted to their forever families prior to being transported. Unfortunately at this time, we cannot bring dogs for a typical meet and greet situation, due to the extensiveness of the transport distance and it being unfair for the dogs who are not adopted to have to make the trip back. Please be advised that applications are reviewed in the order that they are received. To ensure we are honoring the dogs that we have committed to helping, we do have policies and procedures in place that we follow when reviewing adoption applications. LAPP Dog Rescue is ran 100% by volunteers, so please be mindful that when you submit an application that it can take a few days to be reviewed. Submitting an application is not a confirmation that the adoption will be approved/completed. Before submitting the application, please read the FULL description on PetFinder describing the dog's personality, energy level, housing requirements and our policy on meet and greets. The total cost to adopt is $830, which includes a $400 adoption fee, a $230 transport fee, and a $200 REFUNDABLE spay deposit. The adoption fee includes all age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, flea/tick/heartworm prevention, dewormer, and health certificate from a licensed veterinarian.
