Maddie's Story
AN INQUIRY FROM PETFINDER IS NOT AN APPLICATION! READ THE ENTIRE POST FOR INFORMATION HOW TO APPLY. Meet Maddie! Maddie is an 8 year old female shih tzu mix and she weighs about 16 pounds. Maddie arrived in rescue after her previous human passed away, leaving no one able to care for her. Maddie has settled into her foster home nicely, but would love a forever family to call her own. Her foster mom says: What can we say about our sweet, spunky girl, Maddie? In the very short time that Maddie has been with us, she has stolen our hearts. Maddie is extremely lovable and she's always ready for a snuggle, belly rub, to play or just to lay next to her person. She is a positive pup whose personality will uplift anyone's soul. She's been a breath of fresh air to our home and deserve the bestest of homes. Maddie walks really well on a leash and enjoys walking as many times a day and for as long as you can withstand! She's an Energizer bunny that's for sure, but she also knows how to relax and be calm next to her person. Maddie listens very well. She sometimes makes mistakes and is easily guided towards a better decision with the right coaching. Maddie is very playful with other dogs, however she does not like sharing her food or treats with them and is not very nice about letting them know. She also interacts well with all people. She craves any newcomers attention that she can get. Maddie's way of greeting you is to lay on her back and squeal for pets. It's adorable and if it becomes too much, you can tell her to stop and she will. Maddie knows how to sit and is very smart, so can be taught just about anything. Maddie doesn't like to be left alone. She has a bit of separation anxiety with her favorite humans. So this will be something that needs to be worked on. She has not been left alone for very long and our recommendations would be to crate her. Someone who is home more than gone would be best for her. Maddie is spayed, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, microchipped and has had her teeth cleaned. Maddie is fostered in the Orlando area and her adoption donation is $300.
