Susanna's Story
AN INQUIRY FROM PETFINDER IS NOT AN APPLICATION! READ THE ENTIRE POST FOR INFORMATION HOW TO APPLY. Meet Susanna! Susanna is a 3 year old female Maltese/Westie mix she is 8 pounds. She arrived to us after being found as a stray and going unclaimed at animal services. Her foster mom says: She has acclimated to her foster home and is ready to find a loving forever home. She was wary of her fellow canine fur friends but has decided their aren’t going to steal her food or push her around. She even has a cat friend who occasionally tolerates some sniffs. Susanna is leash trained and house trained and on a schedule. She is velcro to her foster parents and wants to sleep, read or otherwise relax next to them. She is smart and always watching to make sure everyone is in her proximity especially if someone is in the kitchen. She was at first arrival a fast consumer of her food and hedged in on other’s food. This behavior has stopped with training but she occasionally needs a verbal correction. Susanna might prefer a home without other pups, but she does get on well with her foster siblings. She’s is an expert fetcher, returns and drops. This took awhile to become apparent, but after feeling safe and comfortable she let us know she did know how to play. Her first weeks in foster care she would guard her foster Mom, again, with patience corrections we have almost eliminated this behavior. She loves everyone she meets and wants to be in the thick of new people. Because of her guarding past a home with no small children is best. Susanna is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, is heartworm negative and had her teeth cleaned. Susanna is fostered in Orlando area and her adoption fee is $375.
