Denali's Story
Meet the national park litter! These cuties are 12 week old mini poodle mixes who were saved from a commercial breeding facility in Lancaster county due not being sold quickly enough. Sadly, this happens all the time due to the alarmingly high amount of dogs that puppy mills are constantly producing. It is simply easier for them to give the older puppies up as they don't care how much they use and abuse their breeding mothers, making them produce litter after litter. These sweethearts are understandably shy and nervous at first, but are doing a great job learning to trust new people! As with all dogs we save from puppy mills, they will need a family who is understanding and prepared to work through a period of transition with them as they learn to live in a house and around people. They will need time to trust their new family before working on training, such as house training. This should go without saying, but we require all our animals to be trained using positive reinforcement methods ONLY. Puppy mill dogs tend to do best in a home without young children as well (10+), though this determination is made on a case by case basis.
