Shasta's Story
Shasta is an approx 10 yr old, female, mini Australian Shepard (17 lbs). She came to us under unfortunate health circumstances of her aging owner. She has been doing well figuring out life apart from the only home she has ever known and has SO much life, energy, and love to give. Shasta is timid upon initial meeting but, with some reassuring head scritches, she melts into your feet. She has the wiggliest nub for a tail and knows how to lift each paw for you to place her harness on for a walk. Shasta walks well on leash and gets along with cats, well-mannered children, and calm dogs. She LOVES love, takes treats EXTREMELY gently, and is low-key enough for Netflix marathons/couch time. Shasta loves nothing more than to be a shadow to her human & has shown no signs of resource guarding nor nipping/herding. Getting brushed is her favorite and, with two taps of the brush to the floor, she will lay down and go belly-up for some underbelly petting & brushing. Shasta has done well going potty outside on a regular schedule and has been doing well with her crate training, now sleeping quietly through the whole night. Shasta is UTD on vaccines, spayed, with a clean bill of health. Although her coat has been shaved down for summer, she does have a fluffy coat that will require regular brushing. You can apply for her via the link below. Once submitted, please let us know & also tell us why you’re then best fit for Shasta.
