Kayla's Story
Kayla is lovely little snuggle bug. She’s an 8-year-old Shih Tzu, who is seeking her furever home. Kayla simply adores humans and animals alike. She is super loving, gentle natured and has been very quiet and well-mannered house guest. We at ASF are determined to ensure she gets to live her best life. She enjoys sitting in the sun outside while keeping an eye on her human. She doesn’t want to miss anything. She really enjoys being near other dogs as well. Kayla came to us needing medical intervention for large mammary tumors. This former breeding mom was facing euthanasia. Fortunately, ASF was contacted about her situation, and we were able to rescue her in time. The tumors have since been removed and biopsied. The good news is that there were clean edges. The bad news is that the type of tumor Kayla had is a cancer that is known to return. We aren’t sure how much time this girl has left but we do know that however long it is she deserves a loving family of her own. Right now – Kayla doesn’t know anything is wrong. In fact, she is a gem! She loves her spa days and enjoys a Sunday drive (she’s the ever-ready road warrior). Kayla likes to be around the action, loves to observe what’s going on, and is a joy to be around. She also likes to stop and smell the roses in fact she doesn’t mind a lazy day where she gets to sleep in too! She is good with cats and chickens. Toys were not a part of her past, but she is starting to understand what toys are now and likes to trot around with a little lambchop stuffy in her mouth. It is so adorable when she tries to bury her treats and stuffies in her dog bed. Highlights about her: • Good natured with humans and animals alike • Housebroken • Crate trained • Quiet • Well mannered • Easily corrected • Enjoys car rides • Tolerates grooming and handling well • Loving and snuggle extraordinaire Kayla will be an amazing companion for one very gracious adopter. The time you’ll have together, though it may be short, will be magical. Are you the human who will ensure her golden time is indeed, golden? Kayla is hoping that you file an application today! Thank you
