Cyrus's Story

Meet Cyrus! This absolutely adorable boy currently weighs 4 pounds and is about 8-9 weeks old. He is a small Australian Shepherd mix. It's suspected that both parents are Aussie but with rescue it's always a guess! (We also have Mylie, his sister so check out our other listings) Cyrus is a precious, soft, little sweet baby ready for a family. He was rescued along with his sister from a scary hoarding situation. He is so sweet and cute! Cyrus has a very gentle and affectionate personality and loves to play with his foster siblings and toys. Of course, he will need patience as he learns the ropes with potty training, crate training, and all of the normal puppy things. We are proud that he uses potty pads like a champ! The adoption fee is $600 and includes age appropriate vaccines (DAPP with boosters, Bordetella, Rabies if old enough), multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter *if old enough, flea & heart worm prevention while in our care, a microchip with free lifetime registration, a collar or harness, treats, squeaky toy, a discount on pet insurance and coupons for Petco! *When adopting one of our puppies too young for spay/neuter, the adopter shall complete a spay/neuter contract to have the puppy spay/neutered before 6 months of age at adopters' expense. The microchip will remain registered to the rescue until proof of spay/neuter is provided. We facilitate adoptions across the US from Houston, Tx. for a small additional fee $300 which includes a health certificate by a licensed vet deeming the pup healthy for travel. Our pups travel in comfort with 24/7 care on licensed transport vehicles including buses and cargo vans. If available, private planes or in cabin on Southwest Airlines (if small enough to fit in carrier under seat). We go above and beyond to provide unparalleled care for our pets. Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care. This puppy is from a part of the US where puppies are regularly euthanized. So, this puppy needs you! If you choose a puppy from this rescue, it saves their life AND it also allows us to save the life of another in its place. A puppy is discovering their personality with each passing day. We pride ourselves in being able to give you good personality and behavioral information to help ensure this baby is the right fit for you. You are also welcome to do a Facetime call to meet your new baby before signing the adoption contract! We require a commitment from adoptive families to crate train their new puppy starting immediately when arriving at their new home, which will help with potty training, energy management, and the overall development of a well-rounded adult dog. You will be guaranteed to get lots of kisses in return from your new best friend! Adoption Application Link: https://rescuetexas.org/adoption Any questions? Please email: [email protected] it may take several days to get a response. If you really are interested, please complete an application because having an application on file receives response priority. We understand that our adoption fees may be higher than some other organizations and shelters but we believe that quality care is worth the investment. By choosing Rescue Texas, you're not just welcoming a new furry friend into your home you're investing in their lifelong health and happiness. You are also supporting the medical treatment of our medical cases from abuse and cruelty cases. The Greater Houston area has the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation. Rescue Texas is on a mission to make a difference. As a nonprofit dog rescue, we are boots on the ground working hand in hand with the community to combat this crisis. Our goal is simple: to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, spay and neuter education, and by rescuing dogs of all breeds from the streets or overcrowded shelters, where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. The dog you've found online is not only lucky to be in our program, but also incredibly fortunate to have caught your eye. Your interest and support mean the world to us and to the animals we save. Thank you for considering adoption and for joining us in our mission to give every animal a chance at a happy and loving home! Our rescue is dedicated to making a difference. We provide individualized socialization, training guidance, and support based on the dogs needs to ensure a smooth transition for both pet and owner.
